Enterprise Finance Tool MVP Product Definition

Facilitated and led discovery research to uncover opportunities for product development by learning about the current database workflows and pain points for finance data touch points within Boeing IT. 

When kicking off the project we had to narrow the scope of our research as there were numerous data points within Boeing IT. We led prioritization activities to help understand where the most pain points were assumed which led to learning about finance data workflows.

Our findings uncovered bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the current workflow and validated assumptions about user concerns with software and tools. This provided evidence for developing a product that is easy to use and could bring workflows into one place.

Discovery Research

We conducted user research by prioritized persona groups speaking to 20 participants to validate workflows and learn pain points.

Service Design

To gain a complete understanding of the workflow we developed service design for the organization before and after the interviews.

We developed a service blueprint to help understand the organization and current workflows of our personas

Validated Personas

We created validated personas to take forward with product development.

 

Product strategy

We shared our research evidence and validated product strategy with stakeholders before beginning production.

Next Steps

The Boeing product team continued work toward the strategy that was defined during our discovery research and built the MVP of this finance tool which helped streamline operations.
